Whether you are looking to snuggle up with someone by the camp fire, or are just looking to have a little more room for you to curl up with a book while camping, a camping loveseat is a great addition to your camping gear.
After doing a bunch of shopping, reading other people’s reviews, and my experience with camping loveseats, I’ve put together this list of my top 7 picks for folding loveseats for camping.
Top Picks for Camping Loveseats
Loveseat Considerations
There are a couple of things to consider when picking out a camping loveseat. Primarily these are how high is it, how packable, and how much it will hold.
The height of your chair is important because tall people like myself can feel a bit cramped in low chairs, while if you have short legs, a taller loveseat may be uncomfortable.
None of these loveseats are meant to be backpacked in anywhere and are definitely made for car camping or backyard use. Still, you want to look at how heavy they are and how hard they will be to transport. It is important to fine a balance between comfort and easy of taking them places.
Lastly, it is important to give some though to total weight rating. Big people like myself might want to look at heavier rated loveseats, so as not to wear them out faster or have them break when sitting with someone.
Top 7 Folding Camping Loveseats
PROS
- Padded storage bag with wheels
- Good drink holders
- Very comfortable
CONS
- Low weight rating
- Seat feels low

- Weight: 15.5 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 400 lbs.
- Seat Height: 13.5"
In doing research for this article, I saw that a lot of other reviewers picked the Kelty Low Loveseat as their top choice. I’m not going to agree with them based solely on the fact that the weight rating is far lower than for all the other loveseats I’ve looked at, even ones of a lower price.
The Kelty loveseat is likely still a good loveseat, but is better suited for someone that doesn’t need a high weight rating, but wants a lighter, smaller loveseat for camping.
PROS
- Sturdy build with heavy fabric
- Stable
- Arms have drink holders and side pockets
CONS
- Moderately heavy
- Doesn't fit in the carry bag well
- Hard to fold
Chair Specs
- Weight: 16.4 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 800 lbs.
- Seat Height: 15"
My overall choice for a camping loveseat, the ALPS King Kong loveseat boasts a high weight rating, a low price, while still having generally favorable reviews. The downside to this loveseat all seem to be with getting it folded back up and back in the bag.
Overall, this seems to me to be a small price to pay for a strong, durable camping loveseat.
Mountain Summit Camping Loveseat
PROS
- Comfortable
- Light weight
- Roomy carry bag
CONS
- Quality control is hit or miss
Chair Specs
- Weight: 12.8 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 500 lbs.
- Seat Height: 14"
Not one of my first choices of camping loveseats, I included the Mountain Summit Folding Loveseat because it comes up in a lot of searches for ‘camping loveseat’. My suspicion is that this is a knock-off of the Kelty Loveseat that someone marketed to REI.
Overall it is about the same size as the Kelty, claims to have more capacity, but weighs less. This makes me a bit suspicious. To add fuel to that fire, many of the negative reviews speak of cheap construction, bad stitching, and breaking plastic fittings. I can’t say I would recommend this camping loveseat.

The perfect loveseat for couples that want to sit next to each other, but maybe not THAT close to each other.
OmniCore’s MoonPhase loveseat has the unique feature of an expandable middle section, allowing it to function as with a bench or two connected but slightly angled chairs.
This chair seems like it would be ideal for a couple that wants to sit together, but with a little room between them, either for comfort’s sake, or because they have to share the couch with their dog too.
Timber Ridge Oversized Double Folding Camping Chair
PROS
- Built in side tables
- Easy to carry
- Feels very sturdy
CONS
- Seat sags in the middle
Chair Specs
- Weight: 20.5 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 600 lbs.
- Seat Height: 18"
Timber Ridge is a name I’ve been familiar with for a long time and I actually already have one of their director chairs.
Typically the Timber Ridge chairs are much more stable than other chairs built with tubular construction. I know mine has zero wobble. Another big plus for me with this loveseat are the two rigid, fold out side tables.
The only real complaint people seem to have about this loveseat is that it lacks some support in the middle, so you tend to lean that direction. In other words, it will force you to cuddle with who you are sitting with.
PROS
- Padded seat and back
- High backrest
- People comment on how durable it feels
CONS
- No arms or cup holders
Chair Specs
- Weight: 18.7 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 600 lbs.
- Seat Height: 19"
The KingCamp Double Folding Chair is on my wish list to get for this camping season. My suspicion is that the heavily padded seat and lack of arm rests will make it the perfect spot for stretching out in the shade for a nap.
This camping chair also has the highest back of any of the camping loveseats that I have found, with is a big plus for tall people like myself.
PROS
- Dual heating controls
- Comes with two 10,000 mAh batteries
- Luxuriously padded
CONS
- Not inexpensive
Chair Specs
- Weight: 22 lbs.
- Weight Limit: 500 lbs.
- Seat Height: 16"
In the category of the most over the top, luxurious, and you don’t need it but want it, is the Kuma Outdoor Gear Bear Buddy Heated Loveseat. Two zone heating controls so you and a friend can cuddle in warmth, even on cold nights.
This loveseat ships with two battery packs that will last between two and six hours depending on just how hot you want your seat. Is this over the top in luxury when it comes to camping? Probably, but you have to admit that this would be awesome to be sitting in on a cold fall night while camping.
